Arabic Translation of Malaysian Documents for Qatar

Short answer: for attestation, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs accepts "The original document in Arabic or English, or a certified translation", so an English Malaysian document needs no Arabic translation to be attested. A translation is needed when the document is in Malay, or when the Qatari office receiving it asks for Arabic. Qatar's Chamber of Commerce approves the stamps and signatures of some translation offices, and Qatari courts use translators registered with the Ministry of Justice.

What we do: certified English and Arabic translations of Malay documents, made in Malaysia and attested together with the original. Send your document on WhatsApp and tell us which Qatari office will receive it.

Last reviewed: October 2026. For attestation, see attesting Malaysian documents for Qatar.

When you need a translation

  • Documents in Malay (JPN certificates, Malay transcripts, court papers): translate them in Malaysia by a translator Wisma Putra accepts, so the translation is attested with the original. See who can certify a translation.

  • Documents in English: no translation is needed for the Ministry's attestation.

  • Qatari courts: certified Arabic translations. A 2024 Ministry of Justice decision allows translators from outside its experts list only when no registered translator exists for the language (reported by Lexis Middle East).

  • Residency, degree equivalency and health licensing: the official pages we checked do not publish a translation rule, so ask the office before ordering an Arabic translation.

Who may translate

No official Qatari page we found defines who may make certified translations for every purpose. Qatar's embassy in Bangkok notes that the "Qatar chamber of commerce approves stamps and signatures of some translation offices", and Qatari courts rely on translators sworn in as experts with the Ministry of Justice. A translation made in Malaysia and attested with the original works for documents that only need attesting; for court use, check whether a Ministry of Justice translator is required.

Translate before or after attestation?

Qatari authorities do not say. For a Malay document, translate it in Malaysia first so Wisma Putra and the Qatar Embassy attest the translation with the original. For an Arabic translation made in Qatar, attest the original first so the stamps are translated too.

Common questions

Does my English degree need an Arabic translation for Qatar?

Not for attestation. The Ministry accepts originals in English. Ask your employer or the equivalency office whether they want Arabic as well.

Can a translation made in Malaysia be used in Qatar?

For attestation, yes, if it is certified and attested with the original. Qatari courts may require a Ministry of Justice translator.

Do you translate into Arabic?

Yes, between Arabic, English and Malay.
