What We Need Before We Quote
Short answer
Send a clear softcopy of every page, and tell us the use, the destination country and the receiving authority.
The official quotation, with turnaround time, follows upon document review, usually within 15 minutes.
It shows one overall total, final for the documents and services quoted, with government and embassy fees included. It stays valid until a fee in it changes.
What to send
Every page with text to be translated, including signature pages, stamps and annexes.
A PDF or a flat scan rather than a blurred photo.
For an IC or passport: the photo page and the signature page, and the back page.
If your passport was renewed: both passports.
If a document is still being issued, send the whole set once it is ready.
If you need a translation notarised: whether we notarise the original, the translation, or both.
Whether you need the certified translation only, Wisma Putra attestation, or full legalisation.
How pages are counted
A full page counts as one page.
A page less than half full counts as half a page.
The front and back of an IC or passport together count as one page.
Confidential documents
We can give an indicative quotation from the page and set counts you state. The final quotation follows our review of the softcopy. Documents you send for a quotation are covered by our Client NDA.
Originals
Singapore, Australia, Canada, the UK and the US: a softcopy suffices in nearly all cases. For other countries, your quotation sets out what is needed.
Certified translation: no original is needed. The softcopy is all we need for the translation. An original comes in only if notarisation or legalisation is also ordered.
MoHE attestation, public university: no originals. Copies of the certificate, transcript and IC or passport.
MoHE attestation, private institution: all original documents except IC, passport and visa.
Wisma Putra attestation and embassy legalisation: original documents except IC and passport, unless your quotation says otherwise.
Single Status Certificate: always the original.
Certificate of Good Conduct: the digital copy is fine.
Aviation certificates: the original, attested by CAAM first.
For China: originals of the single status certificate, statutory declarations and powers of attorney; court documents are best presented as originals.
Things we check before quoting
A document issued outside Malaysia must first be authenticated in the country that issued it.
The Ministry of Higher Education attests only MQA-accredited programmes.
For a dual award, only the Malaysian certificate goes through MoHE.
When a quotation changes
If a government, embassy or our own fee changes before you pay, we send a revised quotation.
If the originals differ from the softcopy, or you add documents or services, a revised quotation comes before work continues.
Payment
In full, upfront, in one go. See Refunds, credit and re-dos, Discount options and What we guarantee.
