Short answer: Turkish offices want documents in Turkish, translated by a sworn translator (yeminli tercüman) and approved either by a Turkish notary or by the Turkish mission in the country where the document was issued. A Turkish translation certified by the Turkish embassy and attached to the legalised document is used in Türkiye directly; residence, marriage, citizenship and company offices often also ask for a translation notarised in Türkiye ("noter onaylı Türkçe tercüme").
What we do: certified Turkish translations of Malay and English documents, legalised together with the original through Wisma Putra and the Embassy of Türkiye in Kuala Lumpur, plus Turkish documents translated into English or Malay for Malaysian authorities. Send your document on WhatsApp for a quote. If an authority rejects a certified translation we prepared within 30 days of delivery, we re-do it free.

Who may translate for Türkiye
-
A sworn translator (yeminli tercüman), whose translation a Turkish notary then approves ("noter onaylı tercüme").
-
A translation certified by the Turkish mission abroad: the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs accepts a Turkish translation by a sworn translator that the embassy has certified and attached to the document.
-
YÖK accepts translations approved by a Turkish notary or a Turkish mission ("Türkiye Cumhuriyeti noterleri ya da Türkiye Cumhuriyeti dış temsilcilikleri tarafından onaylanmış").
What each Turkish office asks for
-
Presidency of Migration Management (residence permits): a notarised Turkish translation of each foreign document, with the embassy legalisation.
-
Municipal marriage office: translations notarised in Türkiye; the papers are valid for six months.
-
NVİ (citizenship): a notarised Turkish translation of each certified document.
-
YÖK and the Ministry of Labour (diplomas): a translation approved by a Turkish notary or a Turkish mission, or by a sworn translator.
-
Trade registry (companies): foreign company documents translated into Turkish and notarised in Türkiye after legalisation.
How our translations reach Türkiye
We translate Malay and English documents into Turkish and certify the translation, then Wisma Putra and the Embassy of Türkiye legalise the original and the translation as one set, so the office receives a complete Turkish file. When an office asks for a translation notarised in Türkiye, a sworn translator there certifies it before a notary, and ours gives them a complete, formatted text to work from. Our team is certified by ITBM, DBP and the Malaysian Translators Association and includes Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak High Court interpreters; client files are covered by our client NDA.
Translate before or after legalisation?
-
Translation legalised in Malaysia: we translate first, so Wisma Putra and the embassy stamp the original and the translation together.
-
Translation notarised in Türkiye: legalise the original first, then translate the whole document, including the Wisma Putra and embassy stamps.
Turkish documents for use in Malaysia
From our own orders, this is most of our Turkish work: Turkish birth, marriage, academic and company documents translated into English or Malay, certified for Malaysian government use with a DBP official's review, for JPN, the courts, Immigration and employers. The Turkish document itself is legalised in Türkiye first (governorship, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara, then the Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara), because Malaysia does not accept apostilles.

Common questions
Does Türkiye accept a translation done in Malaysia?
Yes, when it is certified by the Turkish mission: the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs accepts a sworn Turkish translation that the embassy has certified and attached to the legalised document. Our Turkish translations are legalised with the original through Wisma Putra and the Embassy of Türkiye.
Do I need a translator in Türkiye as well?
Only when the office asks for a translation notarised in Türkiye ("noter onaylı"), as migration, marriage, citizenship and trade registry offices often do. A sworn translator there certifies it before a notary, working from our translation.
My birth certificate is in Malay and English. Do I still need Turkish?
Yes. Turkish offices work in Turkish, so the whole document is translated, including the Malay entries and the stamps.
Do you translate Turkish documents into English?
Yes, certified for Malaysian authorities, and into Malay as well.
