Certified Translation of Malaysian Documents for Myanmar (2026)

Short answer: Myanmar has no sworn translator register for foreign documents. For Malaysian documents, the Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur works in English: a document in Malay needs a certified English translation, attested at Wisma Putra with the document and then endorsed by the embassy. MYLegalTrans is compliant with this: our certified translations go through the same chain, and we add a Burmese translation when the office in Myanmar asks for one.

We translate and legalise in one order: certified Malay to English or Burmese, Wisma Putra and the Myanmar Embassy. Send your document on WhatsApp for a quote.

Last reviewed: October 2026. For the legalisation steps, see legalising Malaysian documents for Myanmar.

Who may translate

Inside Myanmar, Myanmar documents are translated into English and signed by a Notary Public recognised by the Union Supreme Court, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs then authenticates the notary's signature. For Malaysian documents there is no Myanmar translator requirement: the translation is made in Malaysia, certified, and legalised with the document. Our certified translations carry the translator's certification, our company seal and contact details, which is what Wisma Putra attests.

Translations made in Malaysia

A certified translation made in Malaysia is accepted when it travels the chain: the translation is attested at Wisma Putra (RM 10 per certified translation) together with the document, then endorsed by the Myanmar Embassy. Malay documents go into English; Burmese is added only when the receiving office in Myanmar asks for it.
